현재 르레 뒤 루브르가 위치하고 있는 건물은 원래 호텔이 아니었습니다.
프랑스 혁명 중에는 1812년 가장 많이 배포되는 일간지인 주르날 데 데바(Journal des débats)가 자리하고 있었습니다. 이 신문의 발행은 1944년 중단되었습니다.
지상층에는 1850년까지 까페 모뮈(Momus)가 있었고, 이곳은 샤토브리앙, 생트뵈브, 귀스타브 쿠르베, 샤를 보들레르 등이 찾던 곳이었습니다.
