This musical takes us behind the scenes of the Broadway show business of the 1930s. Love affairs, money, the whims of the stars and all the excitement of the artistic world are on the agenda in this production that is staged with a bang. All the means are gathered to make us vibrate, as our American friends know how to do: 300 costumes, 16 scenes, music, dance, tap dancing and a shower of glitter are all there.
42ND Street was born on Broadway in 1980. "It was the first time so much money was put into a musical," says Stephen Mear, the choreographer and director. "People had never seen so many people on stage, and that's what made it successful.

Gérard Garouste is one of the most important French contemporary painters. The artist was born in 1946. Paintings, engravings, sculptures, works centered on figurative painting that often express a tumultuous anguish originating in the family origins of the artist.
Gérard Garouste says he learned nothing at the Beaux-Arts but confides that he was lucky enough to know the restorers at the Louvre Museum.
This exhibition brings together 120 paintings, often of large format, installations and graphic works.
It is beautiful in the forms, colors and non-quiet expressions. We feel a taste for tales, legends, myths and biblical references. It flirts with madness.
Gérard Garouste says: "The very subject of Dante is the Bible. But it's a tale with Dante and Virgil going through this dark forest. To be involved in the divine comedy was for me a pleasure to represent the very strong moments. In the underworld, what I like is that Dante, the more precise he is in the tortures and torments of the damned souls, the more we don't understand anything and the more we enter into abstraction. For me that's what painting is all about. My painting is very figurative but in the end, it gives nothing. What is most important is the void between the paintings.../...In the Bible, it is not the verses that count but the spaces between the words.../...What is important is to find the missing meaning between each painting."
